Springs Forever Summit
The Conservation Summit hosted by Horse Farms Forever brought the spotlight to an essential topic this year: the conservation of our region’s iconic springs.
During the event, we announced the winners of our Poster contest, a collaboration with Horse Farms Forever. The submissions showcased remarkable creativity and a shared commitment to preserving our natural resources. Our Chairman, Vivi Serena, and Supervisor, David Shults, were honored to present the awards to the deserving winners.
The District also had a booth at the Summit, displaying this year’s Poster entries. Attendees had the opportunity to view the creative submissions up close and learn more about the District’s efforts to promote sustainable practices and protect Marion County’s natural resources.
The Summit featured insightful presentations by internationally acclaimed artist and author of AQUIFERious, Margaret Ross Tolbert; geologist and National Geographic Explorer, Jason Gulley, Ph.D.; and filmmaker Mark Emery, a talented cinematographer, composer, and photographer. Their talks provided invaluable insights into the critical need to protect our water resources.
A heartfelt thank-you to Horse Farms Forever for hosting such an impactful event and for partnering with us on this initiative. Together, we’re working to ensure Marion County’s natural treasures are protected for generations to come.
